The mission of the Joan Duran Remembrance Committee is to honor the memory of our friend and classmate Joan J. "Superman" Duran. The committee believes that the best way to honor Joan's memory is in the creation of a Sgt. Joan J. Duran Boston Latin School Prize Night Scholarship, to be awarded in perpetuity.

About Joan Duran

Joan "Superman" Duran was a friend, teammate, and graduate of Boston Latin School, Class of 2002. Known for his uplifting personality and a smile that could light a room, Joan was a living example of the quintessential "can-do" American spirit.

The Joan Duran Remembrance Committee was formed in October 2009 with the purpose of honoring our friend and classmate Joan J. "Superman" Duran. The goal of the committee is to raise funds for the express purpose of the creation of the Sgt. Joan J. Duran Boston Latin School Prize Night Scholarship to be awarded in perpetuity.
